“We don’t belong to you!”

Our resistance to centuries of Euro-Christian domiNation over us, the Original Peoples of the Western Hemisphere.

I was drawn in by the heartfelt storytelling … by the hard truth … with clarity, and hopefulness… I want to continue to learn and listen and find ways to be an ally … This work is vitally important … so that we can all be free of the colonialism, imperialism, separatism, racism, and fear that divides us and SETS US UP TO fail to love and serve our neighbors.

The Long Hope is a perfect frame for a vision for a future that includes self-determination, autonomy, respect and recognition, prosperity, and peace for the Indigenous people of this country.

This documentary is a must see! So informative.
None of this was taught in my school while growing up, not even in history class or college.
During the screening I was very lucky to meet the writer and those being interviewed in the movie and being part of a Q&A that was riveting, sad and provocative.

This needs to be taught in every school and hopefully this documentary gets shown in every theater around the world as it’s more important than most movies that are seen throughout the world.

Finally, direct speak on the hidden corruption over and grotesque genocide of the Original Peoples of Turtle Island!
The squatters who stole the land by murder, extravagant lies and assimilation, are in a major panic, as their systems of indoctrination and domination inevitably fail them.

It’s time for us Originals, to go Home and reclaim our original Ways. We are reMembering who we really are and are returning to our Community, our Language and our Homeland.

Its focus on the 3 doctrines that made up the foundation of U.S Indian law is sinister.
The longest coordinated genocide perpetrated on a People that continues to this very day.

from Peter d’Errico …

The Long Hope is not an ordinary documentary. It looks at past, present, and future:

  • Legal history dating back to the earliest documents asserting a right (!) of domination over Original Peoples and their lands.

  • Present-day examples in everyday Haudenosaunee life of the claim of a right of domination that is the core of US law and policy.

  • Haudenosaunee projects implementing a future rooted in their own past.

The vibrancy of the film arises from the fact that it is produced by people whose lives are affected. It is by the People, not simply about them.  – Peter d’Errico Aug. 2025 (read full review)
